Welcome. This is the landing page for this resource: an asynchronous class/workshop featuring seven videos (over two hours of content), audio files for those who prefer to listen, plus a workbook full of additional writing prompts, examples, readings, resources, and more.
If you’ve found your way directly to this page but need more information, this post shares my full pitch for this workshop.
HOW TO ACCESS THE MATERIALS
The button to sign up for this workshop is below. Please note that all payment options point toward the exact same material; there are just options for what you want to pay.
- The “standard” payment that I am asking is $20, about the price of a ticket to a live event. This will give you ongoing/anytime access to the materials.
- If $20 is too much to swing in this moment, get in touch here and I’ll hook you up with a scholarship.
- For those who can get professional development money from their workplaces or organizations, or who have a budget for educational materials, or who want to pitch in for others’ scholarships, there are options to pay more. This project was an enormous amount of work, so that support is appreciated!

CREDITS AND SHARING
First, a special thank you to SEE MORE PERSPECTIVE, who produced the intro/outro music.
Second, a quick note on sharing: Once you have access to the materials, they aren’t really protected beyond that, and if you really wanted to share, for example, the resource document PDF with other people, I can’t really control that. I’d rather you didn’t, since I think it works best in the context of the course, but there is some “honor system” at play here. If you have a friend who might be into this, maybe encourage them to sign up.
That being said, because of the subject matter, certain kinds of sharing are okay. For example, if you are a teacher, and want to use these materials as an independent study for a student, it is fine with me if you share your login with that student. Or if you have a writing buddy and you’re both broke, please feel free to share a single login. Stuff like that is fine; I’d just rather people not, for example, post full clips on social media, or use the resource document as a syllabus to teach their own paid class, haha. Please feel free to be in touch using the form in the next point with any other questions.
TROUBLESHOOTING
Please use this contact form if there are any issues with payment, access, or tech stuff.
BOOKING INFO
Get in touch here if you’d like to host a live, facilitated version of this workshop (or other workshops; I share some samples/ideas at the link). This is work that I do regularly in schools and colleges, but I am also open to bringing some form of this content to organizations: activist groups, nonprofits, or other values-aligned collectives. It doesn’t have to be this exact series; it could be something like a “narrative interventions” workshop, or an idea-generation space centered on how art & culture can be more organically integrated into a group’s everyday work. Lots of ideas.
A NOTE ON THE FUTURE
Thank you for supporting this project; I hope you got something useful out of it. As I’ve mentioned, this “meeting the moment” series is actually the pilot version of a much larger project: a whole 40-some video collection on poetry and spoken word meant to be used as part of language arts units in schools. If you are interested in that, please sign up for my free email list to be the first to know when it’s ready.
Thank you!
